History
The PRIMA Research and Production Company LLC was established in 1990 by a group of airborne communications young developers. The PRIMA conceiver and first director (1990 - 1998) was Mr. Vladimir Shaikin.
Major milestones of the PRIMA development
Extension of radio communications product line for civil aviation:
— design of the SPGU-21 new generation intercom system intended for the MS-21 aircraft;
— production of the CIMS-21 communication control module
Design of video surveillance and recording systems for aircraft
The “National Champion” title was awarded to the PRIMA at the “TekhUspekh”(Technological Success) competition, organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation
Start of radio navigation equipment development
New direction: development of synthetic vision systems and broadband radio lines for UAVs; launch of a new electroplating shop
Development of the RPA-500 radio direction finder; launch of an automated metalworking shop
Development of new generation HF radios with ALE and HFDL modes
New direction: development and production of the SSKM satellite tracking system terminals and SSKM installation in Utair company helicopters, operated by the UN mission
Creation of airborne VHF/UHF radios (Prima-MV and Prima-DMV)
Creation and certification of the Prima-KV airborne HF radio as a part of communications suites. Beginning of the Prima-400 airborne radios design and production
Design of an intercom system for the “Bester” DSRV (deep-submergence rescue vehicle); startup of Prima-owned serial production
Design of the SPGU-35 intercom public address system for the Mi-8, Ka-226, Ka-32 helicopters as well as of the SPU-34 intercom system for the Ansat helicopter
Development of the ARO-28C and Almaz-UPM new generation voice warning systems
Design of the MSPD communication and data transmission module: the MSPU airborne intercom system functions were enhanced with the data transmission capability
Creation of the intercom public address system for the Be-200 amphibious aircraft
Development of the MSPU integrated intercom public address module combining functions of the airborne intercom system and the ARO voice warning system
Beginning of airborne communication suites development
Foundation of the PRIMA company as a small enterprise
